Ben Miller is a Staff Auditor at Schultz & Associates, CPA, PLC. He earned his accounting degree from Eastern Michigan University and is a member of the firm’s attest services team. Ben works with organizations throughout the year to support audits, reviews, and other assurance engagements. He focuses on accuracy, organization, and responsive client service.
Ben works closely with Senior Auditor Lew Boucher on many of the firm’s attest engagements. Together, they assist clients through every stage of the engagement, from planning and fieldwork to financial statement preparation and final reporting. By maintaining consistent communication throughout the process, Ben helps clients understand what information is needed and keeps engagements moving forward efficiently.
A large portion of Ben’s work involves nonprofit organizations. He assists with financial statement audits and reviews for organizations of different sizes and missions. He also helps clients prepare the schedules and supporting documentation required during the engagement. As a result, organizations experience a more organized audit process with fewer surprises.
Ben also participates in audits of Credit Union Service Organizations (CUSOs). These entities often have unique reporting requirements and specialized accounting considerations. Therefore, Ben works closely with the firm’s audit team to perform detailed testing, document financial information, and help clients meet their reporting obligations.
In addition, Ben assists with Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) financial statement engagements. Franchise companies often require audited financial statements before offering or renewing franchises. Ben helps prepare the financial information needed for these engagements while following professional auditing standards and maintaining attention to detail throughout the process.
